… And consequently it’s been a long time since I posted anything here at the badminton blog. Today afternoon I went to play badminton with JP and some of his buddies. I haven’t played since last summer. It’s mostly due to school and I also had some serious health issues about a month and a half ago, so playing badminton wasn’t really high on my priority list. I went with JP today because I had a pretty free weekend, which is pretty rare when you are in university. Obviously I was a bit rusty and out of shape, but I actually fared better than I imagined. In the two hour span I played (almost) six games and my side won all the games that we finished. Of course, this might be because my opponents weren’t very strong and my partners (JP and later his friend) are seasoned players, but I wasn’t doing too badly myself either. Other than being a little out of breath, all my skills seem to be still there. The last game ended prematurely because one of the guys I was playing against fell and rolled his ankle a little bit. He was able to continue but then he stumbled again, and we decided it was probably best to stop playing.
Overall today was a pretty nice outing for me, but because I haven’t played for months, I do feel pretty tired right now and have a slight injury on the bottom of my left foot. It’s nothing serious though I should be back to 100% in one or two days. However I probably won’t be playing badminton for a couple of weeks now since my final exams for the term are coming up and I have to spend time studying for them. I’ll probably play a fair bit this coming summer if I don’t have any major health problems.
