I haven’t played badminton for about a month, and yesterday JP and I went to play some drop-in badminton at a local badminton centre. Since I haven’t played for a while, I’m not really expecting a spectacular performance and I was right. Well, I was actually doing better than I thought, and three out of the first four games we played were competitive, but JP and I lost anyways, mainly because my screw-up and lack of physical fitness. I was tired after the second game but managed to get a second wind during the fourth game, but we still lost.
The last game of the night was against a mixed doubles pair. The male opponent was pretty good, but his female companion is not as good. It was a tight game and our opponents held a slim lead and got to 19 points first, but JP and I managed to muster whatever we have left and fought back to take the game 21 to 19. The main strategy was to hit it towards the lady opponent, and also for me to stay in the front while JP control the game from the back. After the winning this game I decided that I have gotten enough exercise for the day, as my legs and right arm was sore already. So at the end of the day we ended up with a 1-4 record. Not great, but at least we got one win at the end. Now that I’m not going to school, I’ll probably play a litte more badminton. I think I can still go back to my university to play in the badminton club as I have paid for two terms.
Happy New Years to all our readers.
